Catholicism looks so weird

Catholic worship is "incarnational." Since humans are composed of both body and spirit, our worship involves all our senses. We aren't just brains in vats; we are physical beings.

Incense represents our prayers rising to heaven (Psalm 141:2, Revelation 8:4). Vestments represent the office of the priest rather than his personality. The liturgy is a "heaven on earth" experience, where we participate in the eternal worship described in the Book of Revelation.
